MEPS day - finally!
It started with an early (0600 h) breakfast at McDonalds as the hotel
restaurant did not open until 0700 h.
Then onto the tram to be at the CCD for the 0730 h breakfast session
where Mari was presenting. The
breakfast spread was quite substantial and we probably didn’t need to have had
McD’s beforehand. Not to worry.
After that session, we moved to the MEPS only sessions where
I co-chaired the morning session with Eiko. There were five speakers all of
whom were present. Then it was time for lunch
and the Business meeting. The afternoon
session was Chaired by Sylvain and Richard with a further 5 presentations. We finished about 15 minutes early which was
good for those who wanted to get changed for the dinner, but not so good for
those who did not.
Dinner started at 1930 h at the Harbour Master restaurant,
and it was a great night. Richard
decided it was going to be too difficult for everyone to have to pay for their
own drinks, so made it an open-tab bar – for beer, wine and softies. ZY also bought along his TCW and a jolly good
night was had by all. Carola and Marysol
joined us and I think they had a good night as well. They at least got see that we really do enjoy
our annual get-togethers! As the last
tram was midnight, we had to rush again and by the time we got home it was well
after midnight and I only turned out the light after 0100 h – I had to make
sure I had all my stuff ready for another early start in the morning.
