Day 2: Thu 29 Aug – Dubai to Dublin
Due to favourable winds we arrived in Dubai a few minutes early. After winding my may through the maze that is terminal 3 of the Dubai international airport, I eventually found my way to the Emirates Business Lounge, had a shower and made myself comfortable. I only had 2 hours so couldn’t become too comfy. I also decided to find the gate from which I was leaving so as to not miss the flight. The Lounge is H U G E! It has a number of ‘restaurant’ type eating places and others are just cold food. Plenty of wet bars as well. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow though. When it finally came time for me to board, I handed over my boarding pass that I was given in Brisbane and it beeped. The man then ripped it up and I thought “here we go, got another seat up the back of the plane!!” But no, the man asked me my name and then gave me a new pass; I had been given a complimentary upgrade to Business Class – seat 9B.
